Towering cliffs, and stunning scenery is North Cornwall’s first, middle and last name! One of the best ways to see it at it’s best is to walk the coastal path. Gilbert Lodge is 2 mins from the coast path and you can try one of Cornwall’s consistantly top rated walks right from the front door.
Bossiney to Boscastle via Rocky valley
This is a special favourite walk and one we never tire of. There are several different ways of doing a short walk to Rocky valley or a longer walk to Boscastle, and you can also reach Rocky valley different ways from the Lodge.
Walk along the coast path, through Rocky valley and onto Boscastle – you can walk both ways, or do it one way and catch a bus back to Bossiney which stops near to Gilbert Lodge. The other way round is to walk from the Lodge through the woods, past St Nectans Glen waterfall and the old mill and back through Rocky valley. A good way round to do when the spring bluebells are out.
